Search the Web and Your Workspace

Search the live web from chat, and find chats, Spaces, notes, tasks, and files across your Losi workspace.

Losi search covers two jobs that people often mix up: looking outward on the web, and finding work that already lives inside your workspace.

Use chat when you need current information, sources, or research. Use workspace search when you need to jump back to a chat, Space, note, task, or file without hunting through sidebars.

Search the web in chat

Ask Losi to research a topic, compare options, or pull current information. Be specific about the decision, audience, and what a useful answer should include.

When sources matter, ask for citations, tradeoffs, and what is still uncertain before you act on the result.

  • "Search for current options and summarize the best three with sources."
  • "Compare these vendors from public information and list risks."
  • "Find recent examples and extract the patterns that matter for this launch."

Open workspace search

Press Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux, or open search from the top bar when it is available.

Choose a scope when you know the type

Filter by All, Chats, Spaces, Tasks, Notes, Files, Nexus, or Commands so the result list stays focused.

Jump straight to the item

Open the matching chat, Space, note, task, or file and keep working from there instead of rebuilding context.

Practical search workflows

  • Web first, workspace second: research publicly, then save the useful parts into a Space note or task list.
  • Find the old chat: search by project name, decision, or phrase you remember from the conversation.
  • Find the file or note: search by document title, customer, or keyword, then ask Losi to extract next steps.
  • Find the Space: search the project name, open it, and continue from tasks and notes already in place.

When to go deeper

Workspace search is for finding what you already have. Web search in chat is for gathering current information. If the job needs parallel research paths, comparison, and a synthesized report, move into Sidecar after the first search pass.

Start with a clear question. Narrow the scope in workspace search when you already know whether you want a chat, Space, note, task, or file.
